The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, has appealed to Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to facilitate the immediate disbursement of the Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF) and settle outstanding minimum wage arrears owed to resident doctors and other healthcare workers across the state.

The association made the appeal amid growing concerns over the welfare of medical personnel, stressing that the timely release of the training fund is crucial to the professional development of resident doctors and the overall improvement of healthcare service delivery.

According to the doctors, the unpaid wage arrears and delay in the disbursement of the MRTF have placed significant financial burdens on healthcare workers, affecting morale and productivity within the sector.

The ARD called on the state government to prioritize the welfare of medical professionals, noting that adequate support for healthcare workers remains essential to sustaining quality healthcare services in Oyo State.

The association expressed optimism that Governor Makinde's administration would address the issues promptly in the interest of both healthcare workers and residents who depend on public health facilities.
