OSOGBO, OSUN STATE — African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate and former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Dr. Najeem Salaam, has raised a grave alarm over the unauthorized presence of individuals masquerading as official ADC polling agents across several voting centers in the state.

Speaking to journalists and election observers in Osogbo, Dr. Salaam expressed serious concern over what he termed a coordinated conspiracy by political adversaries to undermine his party’s standing and compromise the election outcome.

Allegations of Infiltration and Impersonation

According to the ADC candidate, reports reaching his campaign headquarters indicate that impostors carrying fraudulent identification tags have positioned themselves at various polling units, claiming to represent the ADC during voter accreditation and balloting.

  • Unrecognized Representatives: Dr. Salaam disclosed that authentic ADC agents issued official credentials by the party leadership were either blocked from accessing their designated centers or replaced by unknown individuals.
  • Sabotage Strategy: He alleged that the fake agents were planted to aid voter manipulation, sign off on compromised polling unit result sheets (EC8A), and create a false impression of party concurrence during contentious calls.
  • Lack of Accreditation Verification: The candidate questioned how unauthorized individuals obtained agent tags and passed security verification at polling units without proper vetting against the master list submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

"We are raising an immediate alarm to the public, INEC, and security agencies," Dr. Salaam declared. "There are unauthorized persons currently posing as ADC party agents at several polling units. These individuals were not deployed by our party, and any document signed or agreed to by them is completely null, void, and fraudulent."

Demand for Security Clearance and INEC Action

Following the discovery, the ADC campaign organization called on security personnel and INEC presiding officers stationed across all 30 local government areas to immediately audit party agent credentials.

  • Ejection of Impostors: Dr. Salaam demanded the immediate arrest and ejection of any individual holding unverified ADC agent tags who cannot present official authorization from the party’s central state executive committee.
  • Call to Supporters: ADC members and voters were urged to stay vigilant at their respective polling units, report suspicious individuals operating as party representatives, and ensure their votes are lawfully counted and recorded.

INEC officials and police commanders monitoring the election are yet to issue a formal public statement regarding the infiltration claims, but security teams have reportedly been notified to verify agent identity cards at affected centers.
