The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is set to lose a total of 1,516 officers and personnel nationwide over the next two years following the release of its statutory retirement lists for 2026 and 2027.

 

According to the retirement schedule, 825 officers are expected to retire from service in 2026, while an additional 691 officers will exit the agency in 2027 upon attaining the mandatory retirement age or completing the required years of service.

 

The development is expected to create vacancies across various commands, departments, and units of the Service, potentially paving the way for fresh recruitment and career advancement opportunities for serving personnel.

 

The statutory retirement exercise is part of the Nigeria Customs Service's workforce management policy aimed at maintaining efficiency, professionalism, and institutional continuity within the agency.
