Social media activist and influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has announced that he will visit Osun State for the first time following an invitation from the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I.
In a post shared on his social media page, VeryDarkMan disclosed that he recently held a video call with the traditional ruler, during which they discussed Nigeria's progress for more than two hours.
According to the influencer, the conversation ended with an official invitation from the monarch to visit Iwo, Osun State.
"The Oluwo of Iwo, the paramount ruler of Iwo Land, called me on a video call and after we discussed for over two hours about the progress of the country, he then sent me an invitation to visit Iwo Land in Osun State," he wrote.
VeryDarkMan added that the trip would mark his first-ever visit to Osun State.
"I have never been to Osun State, so it will be my first time visiting Osun," he stated.
He announced that he is expected to arrive in the state on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, while urging members of his "Ratel Movement" in Osun to prepare for his visit.
A copy of the invitation letter shared alongside the post, dated July 8, 2026, and signed on behalf of the palace of the Oluwo of Iwo, formally invited VeryDarkMan to the ancient town of Iwo.
The letter described the monarch as an admirer of the activist's advocacy for transparency and accountability, noting that his contributions to the fight against corruption and public accountability had attracted royal recognition.
As of the time of filing this report, the palace of the Oluwo of Iwo has not issued a separate public statement regarding the planned visit beyond the invitation letter shared by the influencer.
