A Nigerian music promoter, Samson Erinfolami Balogun, popularly known as Sam Larry, is reportedly responding to treatment after surviving a fatal road accident that claimed the life of his longtime bodyguard, identified as Wale.

The crash occurred in the early hours of Saturday along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road. According to reports, the vehicle conveying the music promoter rammed into a stationary trailer, leaving the front passenger side extensively damaged.

Eyewitnesses said Wale, who occupied the front passenger seat, died at the scene due to the impact of the collision, while Sam Larry sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Lagos for emergency medical attention.

A close associate of the music promoter, who spoke anonymously, confirmed that he is responding positively to treatment.

> "Sam Larry is alive and responding well to treatment. The accident was devastating, and we lost a brother. He is conscious and currently under the care of medical professionals," the source said.

In a video reportedly recorded from his hospital bed and now circulating on social media, Sam Larry expressed gratitude for surviving the crash. He disclosed that he is currently unable to walk and is expected to use a wheelchair temporarily while undergoing rehabilitation.

Medical sources familiar with his condition indicated that he is expected to remain hospitalized for several weeks to receive orthopedic care and physiotherapy.

The accident has generated mixed reactions on social media, largely due to Sam Larry's controversial public profile. He came under intense public scrutiny following his arrest and interrogation in connection with the alleged harassment of the late singer MohBad in 2023.

While some sympathizers, including associates of Naira Marley, have called for prayers for his recovery, others have continued to express criticism, referencing the unresolved circumstances surrounding Mohbad's death.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not issued an official statement on the cause of the crash or whether further investigations are underway.
