The founder and General Overseer of Rock Word Church and Dominion International, Pastor (Dr.) Adamson Aromaegbe, has died at the age of 69.

Aromaegbe reportedly died on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after a period of illness.

His death was officially confirmed by the leadership of Rock Word Church in a statement released on Sunday, August 24, 2026, according to reports.

The late cleric was widely known for his ministry work and leadership of Rock Word Church and Dominion International, where he served as the founder and General Overseer.

His passing has reportedly thrown members of the church, family, friends and Christian community into mourning, with tributes expected to continue as details surrounding his funeral arrangements emerge.

A Life Dedicated to Ministry

Pastor Aromaegbe devoted several years of his life to Christian ministry, building a religious community through his preaching, pastoral leadership and evangelistic activities.

His death adds to a series of recent losses involving prominent Nigerian Christian leaders.

Among other notable clerics who reportedly died in recent months is Rev. Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye, founder and General Overseer of the All Christians Fellowship Mission (ACFM) and a former Aso Villa Chaplain, who died in July 2026.

Also in July, Prophet Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo, a prominent spiritual leader and chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, reportedly died at the age of 93.

The death of Pastor Aromaegbe has therefore marked another significant loss for Nigeria's Christian community.

As members and sympathisers mourn, his ministry legacy and contributions to the Christian faith are expected to remain a major part of tributes in the days ahead.

May God grant his family, church members and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
