President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the prestigious Africa-France Summit, which officially opens today, May 11, 2026.

The President arrived shortly after midnight, following a productive first leg in France where he engaged global investors on Nigeria’s fiscal reforms. The Nairobi summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” is a critical platform for the President to pitch Nigeria as the continent's premier investment destination.

A UNIFIED AGENDA: INNOVATION & GROWTH

Co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, the two-day summit (May 11–12) is set to tackle the most pressing economic challenges facing the continent.

Key Focal Points:

  • Energy Transition: Strategies for green industrialization and sustainable energy access.

  • Global Finance Reform: Restructuring the international financial architecture to favor African growth.

  • Digital Transformation: Scaling AI and digital infrastructure across the continent.

  • Climate Action: Mobilizing private capital for resilient development.

President Tinubu is expected to deliver a keynote statement highlighting his administration’s "bold economic surgery" and hold bilateral meetings with top-tier African and French business leaders on the sidelines.

FROM NAIROBI TO KIGALI

The President’s diplomatic marathon doesn’t end in Kenya. On Wednesday, he will fly to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum (May 14–15), where he will join over 2,000 business leaders and fellow Heads of State—including industrialist Aliko Dangote—to discuss "The Scale Imperative" for African businesses.

Tinubu is expected back in Nigeria by the weekend, ahead of the APC Presidential Primary scheduled for May 23, 2026.
