The Department of State Services (DSS) has rescued the remaining four students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, who were abducted by bandits in Zamfara State.

In a statement issued by the agency, the DSS said the students were freed during a coordinated intelligence-led operation carried out without the payment of any ransom.

The operation also led to the arrest of one suspected kidnapper, while several other members of the criminal gang were neutralised during the rescue mission.

The students were among six abducted from their off-campus hostel in Kaura Namoda on June 3, 2026. Two of the victims had earlier regained their freedom, while sustained security operations resulted in the safe rescue of the remaining four.

The latest operation comes just days after the DSS rescued a professor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, from kidnappers, underscoring the agency's ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and improve security across the country.

The DSS reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property through intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and ensuring public safety.
