A major fire outbreak has been reported at the Old Garage area of Osogbo, Osun State, with emergency responders currently battling to contain the inferno.

According to eyewitness reports, the fire has engulfed parts of the busy commercial district, including Iyanu Oluwa Plastic Company and other nearby buildings. Thick smoke could be seen rising from the affected area as firefighters and residents worked tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading further.

Of serious concern is the presence of two filling stations located close to the scene. Residents fear that if the fire reaches either station, the consequences could be devastating for nearby businesses, road users, and residents.

Emergency responders on the ground are reportedly overwhelmed by the scale of the incident, prompting calls for additional fire service units, security personnel, and volunteers with firefighting equipment to provide urgent support.

Authorities have advised members of the public to stay away from the area to allow emergency teams unrestricted access and to avoid exposing themselves to danger.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damages remain unknown as firefighting efforts continue.
