The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the nation's security agencies for the successful rescue of schoolchildren and a teacher who were abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement issued by its Executive Secretary, BON described the operation as a significant achievement and a testament to the professionalism, courage, and operational competence of Nigeria’s security forces.

The organization praised the coordinated efforts of the Nigerian Military, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies involved in the rescue mission, noting that their swift and effective response brought relief to the victims, their families, and the nation at large.

BON also commended President Tinubu for providing the political leadership and support necessary for security agencies to carry out their responsibilities effectively. The body further acknowledged the role of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and residents of the state for their cooperation with security operatives, which contributed to the success of the operation.

According to the statement, the rescue highlights the importance of sustained collaboration among security institutions in tackling kidnapping and other security challenges across the country.

While celebrating the successful outcome, BON urged security agencies to maintain the momentum and continue strengthening inter-agency cooperation to ensure the safety of citizens nationwide.

The organization also expressed hope that other victims still being held captive by kidnappers, particularly in parts of Borno State and other northern regions, would soon regain their freedom and be reunited with their families and communities.

BON reaffirmed its support for ongoing efforts aimed at restoring peace and security across Nigeria, emphasizing that the protection of lives and property remains a collective national responsibility.
