The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has formally submitted the presidential nomination of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), expressing confidence in his ability to win the 2027 presidential election.
The party said the nomination reflects its belief in Makinde’s leadership capacity and vision for national development, describing him as a credible candidate capable of driving Nigeria’s renewal and progress.
According to APM officials, the governor’s track record in governance, infrastructure development, economic management, and public service delivery informed the party’s decision to present him as its preferred presidential candidate.
The party maintained that Makinde possesses the experience and competence required to address the nation’s challenges and reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth and prosperity.
APM further expressed optimism that Nigerians would support the governor’s candidacy in the 2027 general election, citing what it described as his performance-oriented leadership style and commitment to good governance.
The submission of the nomination to INEC marks a significant step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 presidential race, as political activities and alignments gradually gather momentum ahead of the election.
The development is expected to generate discussions within the political landscape as parties continue to strategize and position their candidates for the next electoral cycle
