The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State has announced the commencement of the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for eligible voters ahead of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.

According to a press release signed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, the exercise is targeted at individuals who recently registered, applied for transfer of registration, requested replacement of lost or damaged PVCs, or updated their voter records during the recently concluded Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

INEC disclosed that the PVC distribution will be conducted in two phases to ensure easy access for voters across the state.

The first phase will take place at the 332 Registration Areas (Wards) across Osun State from Wednesday, July 22 to Tuesday, July 28, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily, including weekends.

Thereafter, the exercise will continue at INEC Local Government Area Offices across the state from Wednesday, July 29 to Friday, August 7, 2026, also from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.

The electoral body urged all registered voters concerned to collect their PVCs within the stipulated period, stressing that the PVC remains the only valid means of accreditation for voting on election day.

INEC further stated that previously uncollected PVCs from earlier voter registration exercises will also be available for collection during the distribution period.

The Commission reminded the public that PVC collection is strictly personal, warning that collection by proxy is prohibited and constitutes an electoral offence.

Reaffirming its commitment to credible elections, INEC assured residents of Osun State of its determination to conduct a free, fair, transparent, and inclusive governorship election.
