IGBAJO, OSUN STATE — October 1, 2026 — Michael Adebayo has penned a heartfelt birthday tribute to the Owa of Igbajo, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Dr. Ademola Makinde, describing the monarch’s reign as a transformative era that has revitalized the historic town.

In the celebratory message released on Thursday, Adebayo lauded Oba Makinde—an accomplished academic and financial professional holding a doctorate alongside fellowships with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI)—as a "vessel of profound wisdom" whose ascension was divinely ordained.

Reflecting on the challenges preceding the monarch’s enthronement, Adebayo highlighted Oba Makinde’s humility, self-restraint, and steadfast faith in justice as the defining qualities that saw him through periods of adversity.

"Despite the obstacles, the calumnies, and the intimidations that sought to deter you, you neither disrespected any person nor uttered a word against another," Adebayo wrote. "I regard this disciplined restraint as the silent weapon that has fought and continues to fight your battles."

The tribute emphasized the monarch's dedication to the development of Igbajo land, noting his strong advocacy for youth empowerment, his care for the elderly, and his selfless leadership style that consistently places the welfare of his subjects above personal gains.

Calling the traditional ruler "the Chosen One," Adebayo offered prayers for continued peace, communal harmony, and economic prosperity throughout Igbajo land during the king's reign.

"May the same God who placed you upon the throne never permit you to fail," Adebayo concluded. "By divine grace, you shall lead this land into lasting prosperity. Happy birthday, Onigemo Otoro Oye, Owa of Igbajo."
