The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Osun Central Senatorial District, Dr. Ibraheem Adekunle, has dismissed claims allegedly linking former APC aspirant, Senator Ajagunla, to the party's 2026 senatorial ticket, insisting that the PDP is "not a dumping ground for losers."

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Adekunle alleged that Ajagunla, after failing to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket, had been moving across political parties in search of another platform to contest the 2026 election.

He further claimed that Ajagunla had been presenting himself as the PDP's candidate for Osun Central despite not participating in the party's primary election.

According to Adekunle, he remains the duly recognised winner of the PDP's Osun Central Senatorial primary and the candidate officially registered by the party for the 2026 election.

The PDP candidate also alleged that there is a Certified True Copy (CTC) of the APC primary election results publicly available online, which, according to him, confirms that Ajagunla lost the APC primary. He further claimed that any attempt to secure another party's ticket after participating in the APC primary would be contrary to the Electoral Act.

Adekunle described the alleged moves by Ajagunla as "a mirage" and "a chase after a flight that has already taken off," urging those close to the former APC aspirant to advise him against what he described as unnecessary political pursuits.

He also alleged that Ajagunla had approached him in a bid to obtain the PDP ticket, maintaining that the ticket was won through a legitimate primary election and could not be handed over.

Addressing his supporters, Adekunle urged them to remain calm, reiterating that he remains the authentic PDP candidate for the Osun Central Senatorial District in the 2026 elections.

The allegations contained in Adekunle's Facebook post have not been independently verified, and Senator Ajagunla had not publicly responded to the claims as of the time of filing this report.
