Popular Nigerian content creator and livestreamer, Peller, has expressed disappointment after discovering that many of the dollar bills sprayed on him during his recent wedding to fellow content creator Jarvis were counterfeit.
Speaking during a livestream, Peller revealed that he took the dollar notes to a bank to exchange them after the wedding, only to be informed that a large portion of the cash was fake.
"I went to the bank after my wedding to change the dollars, and most of the money was fake," he lamented.
According to the streamer, while some guests genuinely gifted him authentic dollar notes, others sprayed him with counterfeit currency during the celebration.
Peller said he could easily identify those who presented him with genuine money, adding, "The people that gave me real money, I know them."
The content creator expressed frustration over the incident, noting that many of the dollar bills he proudly displayed on social media after the wedding turned out to be worthless.
Questioning the motive behind the act, Peller asked, "Is it by force to spray?", as he condemned the use of fake currency at celebratory events.
The revelation has since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many users criticizing the circulation of counterfeit notes at public celebrations, while others sympathized with the newlywed over the unfortunate experience.
