The Nigerian Army has arrested two serving soldiers for allegedly acting as bouncers during the wedding ceremony of popular TikTok personality Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, in Lagos.

The soldiers, identified as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa (Service No. 23NA/85/10007) and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi (Service No. 23NA/85/7885), are attached to the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH), Obalende, Lagos.

According to military sources, the two personnel were taken into custody after videos from the celebrity wedding surfaced on social media, showing uniformed soldiers controlling access to the venue and escorting guests. Their presence reportedly sparked widespread criticism, with many Nigerians questioning why serving military personnel were providing security at a private social event.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the soldiers may have undertaken the assignment without official authorization, a move believed to be contrary to military regulations governing the deployment of personnel.

One of the viral videos also showed a soldier allegedly acting as a bouncer for popular TikTok influencer Ivanna, further fueling public outrage and calls for accountability.

Military authorities have since launched an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the deployment and whether other personnel were involved.

The Nigerian Army maintains strict rules prohibiting serving soldiers from engaging in unauthorized private security duties or accepting private engagements without approval from the appropriate military authorities.

As of the time of filing this report, the Army has yet to issue an official public statement on the arrests, while investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
