OSOGBO — Ahead of the upcoming Osun State gubernatorial election, political realignments have taken center stage as key stakeholders throw their support behind incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Prominent among political figures backing the governor's second-term ambition is former Secretary to the Osun State Government (SSG) and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti.
Strategic Political Realignment
Adeoti, who had previously pursued political aspirations within major platforms, formally declared his unreserved support for Governor Adeleke. Speaking during a high-profile town hall gathering at Adolak Hotel in Osogbo alongside thousands of his loyalists and supporters, Adeoti explained that his decision to align with Governor Adeleke under the Accord Party platform stemmed from political discrepancies and a fallout with his former principals.
The endorsement adds significant momentum to Governor Adeleke's political machinery as the administration consolidates its grassroots backing ahead of the electoral contest.
Boosting the Incumbent's Advantage
Governor Adeleke, who emerged as the standard-bearer for the Accord Party following internal party shifts, continues to draw endorsements from various political actors, labour groups, and community leaders. Observers note that Adeoti’s public buy-in is a strategic boost, pulling vital political weight and expanding the broad-based coalition backing the governor's continuity agenda in Osun State.
