Movement has been restricted across Udu Local Government Area of Delta State as residents head to the polls for the Udu State Constituency House of Assembly bye-election today, Saturday, September 19, 2026.

The movement restriction, which commenced at 6:00 a.m., will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the election.

The restriction is part of measures put in place by the state authorities to support security operations and prevent incidents that could disrupt the electoral process.

However, essential workers, accredited election observers, journalists, security personnel and emergency responders are exempted from the restriction.

Residents have been urged to comply with the directive and cooperate with security personnel throughout the voting period.

The bye-election is expected to determine the representative of the Udu State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
