The Osun State Police Command has strengthened its partnership with the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) following a courtesy visit by the committee’s National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, and other stakeholders to the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Zungura, psc (+), mnips.

The engagement, which took place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Commissioner’s office, also featured the launch of the Safe School Initiative, a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing security and creating safer learning environments for pupils and students across Osun State.

The initiative is designed to deepen cooperation among the Police, PCRC, schools and other relevant stakeholders in addressing security concerns within and around educational institutions.

As part of its continued support for effective police-public relations, the PCRC Osun State Chapter also presented a professional camera to the Osun State Police Command. The equipment is expected to support communication, documentation and other public relations activities of the Command.

Speaking during the engagement, CP Zungura appreciated the PCRC leadership and other stakeholders for their continued support and commitment to strengthening police-community relations.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustained collaboration with relevant stakeholders in promoting peace, security and safety across Osun State.

The event was attended by members of the PCRC, senior police officers and other stakeholders, including Rt. Rev. Dr. Israel Ade-Ajala, DCP Alalade Adio, Otunba Femi Arowosola and Comr. Okekunle Shola, among others.
