OSOGBO, OSUN STATE — The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has accused the factional National Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, and some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of allegedly plotting to trigger fresh violence over control of motor parks.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the party alleged that MC Oluomo was backing Kazeem Oyewale, popularly known as Asiri Eniba, and other individuals in an attempt to take control of motor parks across the state.

The allegations come amid heightened tension within the NURTW following the September 13 killing of Accord chieftain Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade, in Ile-Ife. Governor Ademola Adeleke subsequently ordered the immediate vacation of motor parks by rival groups, directed security agencies to restore normalcy and announced plans to reintroduce a Park Management System.

Accord alleged that MC Oluomo had previously issued a new certificate of leadership to Asiri Eniba despite the tenure of the existing executive not having expired. The party further claimed that Eniba was being encouraged to resume activities at motor parks despite the state government's directive suspending NURTW operations.

The claims have not been independently established, and neither MC Oluomo nor the Osun APC was quoted in the statement responding to the allegations.

The development follows reports that Asiri Eniba announced his return to the Osun NURTW headquarters in Osogbo on Saturday, September 19, despite the state government's proscription of NURTW activities.

Accord called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Inspector-General of Police to intervene and, according to the party, “call MC Oluomo to order.” It warned that those responsible should be held accountable for any further breakdown of law and order.

The party also expressed support for Governor Adeleke's decision to suspend NURTW activities and establish a Park Management System, describing the measure as necessary to prevent further clashes among rival factions.

Accord urged the Commissioner of Police and other security agencies to enforce the government's directive that NURTW factions vacate motor parks and to secure the facilities against attempts by rival groups to take control.

The party said proactive security measures were necessary to prevent another round of violence linked to the longstanding struggle over motor park leadership in Osun State.

The latest accusations come as political parties and rival NURTW factions continue to trade allegations over the management and control of motor parks in the state. The Osun APC has separately criticised Governor Adeleke's proposed Park Management System, questioning the state's authority to take over motor park administration.
