Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has alleged that the Senate President and business magnate Aliko Dangote contacted him over a social media post concerning the election.
According to Davido, the Senate President was attempting to reach the coalition centre while he also received a call from him asking that he delete a tweet.
Davido said he rejected the request, insisting that he would not remove the post until the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared his uncle the winner of the election.
“I said I won’t delete till INEC declares my uncle as winner,” Davido reportedly said.
The singer further claimed that Aliko Dangote also contacted him, but maintained that he stood by his decision not to delete the tweet.
The allegation comes amid heightened attention surrounding the election results and the activities of political stakeholders as the electoral process moved towards the official declaration.
