A Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has confirmed that he witnessed the telephone conversation between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, regarding the freezing of the Osun State Government's bank account by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Davido made the disclosure in a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account while reacting to a statement shared by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. The presidential aide had announced that President Tinubu informed Governor Adeleke during a phone conversation that he had directed the EFCC to lift the court order freezing the state's account.

Reacting to the development, Davido wrote: "I was there live! I witnessed history!!!" accompanied by the Nigerian flag and laughing emojis, indicating that he was present during the conversation.

The Presidency had earlier stated that President Tinubu directed the EFCC to vacate the court order after expressing concern over the potential disruption to governance and the delivery of essential public services in Osun State.

The freezing of the state government's account had generated widespread public and political reactions, particularly as it came days before the August 15 Osun State governorship election.

Davido's post has since attracted significant attention on social media, adding another dimension to the unfolding political developments surrounding the controversy.
