A lifeless body has reportedly been left at Ayetoro Junction in Osogbo, Osun State, for more than 24 hours, prompting calls for urgent intervention from relevant government and emergency authorities.

The situation has raised concerns among residents, commuters and business owners in the area, with calls for the immediate evacuation and proper handling of the corpse.

Concerned residents are urging the Osun State Police Command, Osun State Government, Ministry of Health, Osun State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), relevant local government authorities and other emergency agencies to respond swiftly to the situation.

Beyond the dignity owed to the deceased, the prolonged presence of a corpse in a public space could pose public health and safety concerns while also causing emotional distress to people who live, work or travel through the area.

Authorities are therefore being urged to secure the location, properly evacuate the body, establish its identity where possible, and take appropriate steps in accordance with relevant public health and legal procedures.

The circumstances surrounding the death and how the body came to be left at the junction were not immediately clear as of the time of reporting.
