A 75-year-old woman has been killed and several others seriously injured after a Bolero pickup was allegedly driven into a house multiple times during a land dispute in Jamvasu village, Barshitakli taluka, Akola district, Maharashtra, India.

The deceased was identified as Sonabai Makharam Jadhav, who was reportedly inside the house when the incident occurred on Friday.

According to preliminary reports, the driver allegedly rammed the pickup into the house four to five times, causing extensive damage to the building and leaving residents in shock.

Two to three other people were also reportedly seriously injured during the incident. The injured victims were taken to a medical facility for treatment.

Videos purportedly showing the incident have reportedly circulated on social media. The violent confrontation triggered panic in the village as residents watched the house being repeatedly struck by the vehicle.

The incident is believed to have been connected to an ongoing land dispute. However, police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the confrontation to establish what led to the attack and determine those responsible.

Police reportedly detained a suspect and seized the Bolero pickup allegedly used in the incident as part of the investigation.

Authorities are expected to provide further information on the condition of the injured victims, the identity of the suspect and possible charges as the investigation progresses.
