The Osun State Government has raised the alarm over alleged plans by some stakeholders to trigger fresh crises at local government council areas and motor parks across the state, days after the August 15 governorship election.

The warning was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, as the state government called on political actors and residents to embrace peace, reconciliation and healing.

According to the government, it is particularly concerned about reports of possible attempts to ignite fresh rounds of crisis in local government councils and motor parks.

It urged anyone involved in such plans to immediately abandon them, stressing that Osun needs peace and stability to achieve meaningful development.

The government also acknowledged disruptions reported in some parts of the state following the election and appealed to residents to allow peaceful coexistence and rule-based interactions across society.

The administration further called on security agencies to ensure the restoration of law and order, particularly in areas where political tensions remain.

The government also expressed condolences to victims of pre-election tensions and violence, urging political leaders and their supporters to reject any attempt to return the state to the atmosphere of conflict witnessed before the election.

It stressed that the election had been concluded and that the priority should now be reconciliation, healing and rebuilding.

The government further urged all political actors to speak and act peacefully, warning that any renewed violence could undermine the state's development and peaceful coexistence.

The latest warning comes amid renewed political tensions following the governorship election, with the state government insisting that Osun must not relapse into post-election violence.
