The Osun State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Najeem Salaam, has declared that he remains fully in the race for the August 15 governorship election, dismissing speculation that he may step down for another candidate.

Salaam made the declaration in a statement as campaign activities officially came to an end, urging his supporters, party members and residents across the state to remain peaceful, law-abiding and focused ahead of the poll.

The ADC candidate called on his supporters not to allow provocation to push them into violence, stressing that his campaign had consistently promoted peace, progress and good governance.

He also urged voters to come out en masse on election day and exercise their constitutional right without fear or intimidation.

“Your vote is your voice. Do not be afraid. Stand firm and vote for the candidate of your choice,” Salaam said.

Reaffirming his commitment to the contest, he stated categorically that he was “not stepping down for anybody,” adding that he was contesting the election with the intention of winning.

Salaam further urged ADC supporters across Osun to vote for the party, protect their votes peacefully and remain vigilant throughout the electoral process.

He concluded with a call for peace and progress, urging voters to support the ADC at the polls.
