The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Saliu Mustapha, has announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State.

Mustapha disclosed his decision in a statement, saying it followed careful consideration of recent developments within the party in the state.

The senator said his resignation was not taken lightly, noting that it came after weeks of consultations and engagements with political stakeholders, supporters, constituents across Kwara Central and other well-meaning Kwarans.

According to him, his decision was informed by his belief that politics should be driven by people, principles and purpose.

He explained that when a political platform no longer sufficiently aligns with those convictions and the aspirations of the people he represents, it becomes necessary to chart a new course.

Mustapha expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the relationships and experiences he gained during his time in the party.

He also assured his constituents, supporters, political associates and stakeholders that although his political platform may change, his principles, purpose and commitment to the people remain unchanged.

The senator reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Kwara Central, Kwara State and Nigeria.

Mustapha is the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District and holds the traditional title of Turaki of the Ilorin Emirate.
